Partner with M3

Thank you for taking the time to visit our site.

In case you haven’t heard, we moved last year from the Los Angeles area to St. Joseph Missouri and started a nonprofit – M3 Ministries. This new venture is up-and-going, and it is growing.

We started M3 Ministries because we have a vision to help the church be everything it is meant to be – a visible expression of Christ’s kingdom “on earth as it is in heaven.” We exist for the future of the church.

Our experience as a pastor and professor for the past 25 years has allowed us to see some areas of need in many churches…

We need to do a better job of caring for our leaders – so that they are strengthened to shepherd the churches entrusted to them. If our leaders are broken and hurting, how can they care for their congregations?

We need to be better at educating our people – so that they are equipped to follow Christ in today’s world. If our people are not properly prepared, how can our churches be strong and thriving?

We need to help our churches learn to work together – so that they will more actively engage and serve the communities where they live. If our churches are disconnected and divided, how can they ever be a unified display of Christ to the people around them?

Meeting these areas of need is what M3 Ministries is all about. Our mission is to strengthen local churches through a threefold ministry of pastoral encouragement, church education, and community engagement.

We believe this is a significant work: To strengthen the church of today is to prepare the church of tomorrow. This is not something we can accomplish by ourselves; it can only be done in partnership with people who share our vision of seeing the church flourish into the future.

Could we find a time to tell you more about what the Lord is doing through M3 Ministries?

We are looking for partners – people who will share our passion to promote the health and vibrancy of churches all over the world.

Would you consider joining our team of partners by becoming a monthly supporter or through a one-time donation?

Your partnership with M3 will go toward…

Launching a Training Center/School for those who desire to be equipped and trained for Christian life and leadership. This will be a one-year, cohort-based curriculum involving online classes and forums, on-campus seminars, along with practical outworking and outcomes.

Expanding Our Pastoral Care Ministry that provides encouragement and care for pastors and church leaders.

Your partnership with M3 will see pastors cared for. People equipped. Partnerships formed. Lives changed. Communities impacted. A world transformed.

We believe this is an investment worth making, an investment with eternal results!

Thank you for taking the time to consider what the Lord is doing through our new ministry here in the Midwest. We are super grateful for our friendship with you. May the Lord continue to richly bless you.

We started M3 Ministries to help the church BE the church.

And one of the ways we are seeking to strengthen the church is through EDUCATION.

By education, we mean something more than simple classroom instruction.

By education, we mean something holistic – both formal and informal. We are talking about education that is equipping people for life. Training people in the Jesus Way. Preparing people for kingdom living and mission.

Or as the Apostle Paul puts it, “equipping the saints for the work of the ministry…”

This is a particular passion of ours. We have been doing this as a pastor for 24 years. And for the past 14 years, we have had the opportunity to do so as a professor through Eternity Bible College in Simi Valley, CA.

Through our role at Eternity we have had the privilege of preparing countless numbers of Christians for a life of ministry in the church and service in the world. There is something incredible and infectious that happens as we witness these men and women, both young and old, catch the vision of how Christ and His kingdom are transforming the lives of people and communities everywhere – and then they go become agents of transformation in the places the Lord takes them.

One of our commitments at M3 Ministries is to provide affordable, quality education for anyone who desires to become a fully formed and faithful follower of Jesus as Lord. We are currently in the process of starting a TRAINING CENTER hosted at Word of Life Church. This Training Center will allow us to prepare resources that will be made available…

  • Through a certificate
  • Through online classes (and other media forms)
  • Through a podcast
  • Through blogs and other written materials
  • Through recommended readings
  • Through speaking engagements

Connecting people to a caring community on a common journey

Do you ever feel alone on your journey with Jesus? Let us be there for you!

One of the ways M3 is seeking to do its part to help the next generation of churches be more like Jesus is by helping people connect with a caring community on a common journey.

All over the world, people are beginning to get a glimpse of a more beautiful kingdom centered around the good news (gospel) that “Jesus is Lord.” They are discovering a more “Water-to-Wine-like” Christianity. And once they have “tasted and seen” the good stuff, they want more!

This journey with Jesus is a road that is meant to be traveled in community. But what do you do when there is no community around you – or even worse, when the community that is designed to help ends up being the source of hurt and pain?

Unfortunately, this is the story of too many people…

Our heart for this ministry was forged through the fire of our own pastoral experience. It was sparked specifically through a personal conversation we had with Brian Zahnd, pastor of Word of Life Church in St. Joseph Missouri. He shared that he receives on average five contacts a week – a week! – from people all over the world – many of whom are pastors and church leaders – who are looking to share their story with him. Often these stories are filled with pain and heartache as they seek to be faithful to Christ and His kingdom. One of the things they often share is that they feel all alone in their journey. This deeply resonated with us – and it was a large part of the vision the Lord gave us that compelled us to move our family from Los Angeles to the Midwest to be a part of Word of Life Church and start M3 Ministries.

We are devoted to helping you connect to a caring community of people who are on a similar journey. One of the ways we do this is through our Water to Wine Facebook Group, which is now over 1000 people and growing. We have also committed ourselves to being a resource and a relationship for you who are on the journey with Jesus, with a particular emphasis on you who are pastors and church leaders. After more than two decades of pastoral ministry, we know how essential it is to have a community come around you when the going gets rough. Our desire is to be there for you, to walk alongside of you, and to help you in whatever way we can.

Are you on a journey toward a more authentic expression of Christ and His church?

Have you sought to lead your community into a greater faithfulness to Christ and His kingdom, only to experience hardships and hurt?

Do you often feel like you are on an island with no one to talk to about this journey?

We’ve been there. We know what you’re going through.

You don’t have to “go it alone.”

Let us walk with you.

If you ever need someone to talk to…

If you ever need a sounding board to talk things out…

If you ever need a friend to pray for you…

If you ever need resources for the journey…

If you ever need guidance or direction…

If you ever need someone who cares…

If we can ever be there for you…

Then feel free to Contact us.

We look forward to hearing from you!

What would it look like if local churches worked together in their communities?

We started M3 Ministries to help the church BE the church.

And one of the ways we are seeking to strengthen the church is through community ENGAGEMENT.

Specifically, our vision is to help local churches partner together to actively and effectively impact their communities for Christ.

For the church to BE everything Christ designed for it to be, it must be making a difference in the world. We believe local churches are to be the visible presence of Christ to the people around it, a picture of Christ’s kingdom “on earth as it is in heaven.”

In our years in pastoral ministry, we have found that a lot of churches are doing really good things – and are truly making a difference in the lives of people – but often they are not working together to multiply the impact they could have on their community and culture. Our desire is to see churches and other organizations work together in strategic partnerships – specifically in the cities and communities in which they live – in order to truly engage and serve the people around them.

A pastor friend of ours tells a story that illustrates the need for these partnerships. He shared the story of a large church that formed a massive outreach program for its community. On the day they launched the ministry, they found out that the church across the parking lot had already been doing a similar ministry for a long period of time. Think of all the time, energy, and resources that could have been saved and redistributed if only they were working together!

M3 Ministries is in the process of developing a platform to help local churches form partnerships for community engagement and service. Our vision is to have a paradigm for churches that involves listening to and learning the culture around them, building relationships in the community, and forming teams to minister to the needs of the people around them.

This ministry is a work in progress. Follow us on our website, Facebook, and/or Twitter to stay up-to-speed with how things are developing.
